Markua 0.10 and Markua 0.30 are built on entirely different codebases (Ruby for 0.10, and Pandoc for 0.30).

We have never had YAML stripping as an official feature in Markua 0.10. If you discovered YAML stripping in Markua 0.10, that was just an undocumented and unsupported feature.

So, we're not going to support it in Markua 0.30. Markua 0.30 is trying to be more compatible with standard Markdown (it's built on top of Pandoc and CommonMark), and the Markua 0.10 behaviour was incompatible in this regard.

So, for your use case, you'll either need to stick with Markua 0.10 or write a script to do some preprocessing to strip out the YAML yourself :)
