If you look at the original definition of Markdown, you'll find that there is no support for math:
So, various Markdown dialects add extensions. Markua adds a lot of them!
However, Markua at least defines a spec, and it is based on the CommonMark spec, to be as compatible as possible:
You should be able to use VSCode or some similar editor to do a find-replace with regular expressions to convert the $$ characters appropriately, or ask an AI to help with either the regex or writing a script.
