We use third-party services to process purchases (specifically, Stripe and PayPal).
When we issue a refund, the money is taken from our account and the process is not reversible.
So, after a refund is requested, the rest of the process is in the payment provider's hands.
If your card has expired or has been cancelled after you request a refund, but before you actually receive the refund, we recommend you contact your bank or credit card provider and ask them for information about what will happen in your case.
