Images are added to Leanpub books in a way very similar to adding images in Markdown.
In Markua, Leanpub's "Markdown for Books" markup syntax, you add images to a book by:
1) Adding the image file to a folder container for the book's "resources"
2) Referencing the image in your manuscript, in the place where you want the image to appear
How this works precisely will depend on the writing mode you choose for your Leanpub book.
