If you're a Leanpub author and someone reports a Leanpub-related issue to you, please ask them to go to our Contact page here:

Sometimes people think that because so many Leanpub authors are self-published authors, that it's the author's responsibility to resolve Leanpub-related issues for them.

That's not true! Helping to resolve customer issues is our job, not yours.

Just to explain it a little bit, this is true on a number of levels.

For example, "playing telephone" is a terrible way to resolve issues. If they contact us directly, instead of asking you to relay messages, we can save you time and effort.

But it also saves them time, because issues may be account-specific and resolving their issue may require some privacy, for example discussing the details of their Leanpub accounts.

On a deeper level, when we interact with people directly, it's easier for us to figure out the underlying problem on our end, and not just resolve the customer issue in the moment, but actually fix the problem with our service, website design, or Help Center explanations.
