Can I put a footer on every page of my book to help prevent piracy?

At Leanpub, we currently don't do any DRM or watermarking.

However, we know everyone doesn't share our opinion on this issue, and we do have a "Custom Footer Text" feature you can use to add a copyright message to the bottom of every page, if you would like to.

To add a custom footer to every page of your book, go to the "Generation Settings" page for your book here:

https://leanpub.com/YOUR_BOOK/settings/generation_settings

...making sure to replace YOUR_BOOK with your book's unique web address.

You can also find the "Generation Settings" page on your book's "Overview" page:

On the Generation Settings page, scroll down and you'll see the "Custom Footer Text" section:

You can add a copyright-related text here, like this:

When you've added your text, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click "Update Book"

When you create a new preview of your book, you'll see the custom footer text at the bottom of most pages, like this:
