If you try to sign in to a Leanpub account that has been suspended, you will see a message like this:
Account Suspended
Your account has been suspended for a possible violation of our Terms of Service.
If you believe this to be in error, please contact the Leanpub team at hello@leanpub.com.
What did I do wrong?
Leanpub's security measures are set up to protect people and the site.
Typical reasons for suspending an account include:
Publishing a book or course without substantial original content. Sometimes people do this by accident, clicking the button to publish their book, without understanding that this will put it up for sale on the Leanpub bookstore. In many cases, this means they have published for sale the default content we include in newly-created books and courses. However, sometimes other people do the exact same thing for bad reasons.
Creating a book or course with the same name as the user. Leanpub is a platform for publishing books and courses, not for setting up arbitrary promotional profile pages for particular people.
Creating a book, course, or profile page for the promotion or advertisement of a business, or for products and services provided elsewhere.
What can I do next?
Sometimes our security measures are overprotective. If you believe your account has been suspended in error, or if you are now aware that you made an innocent mistake, please contact the Leanpub support team at hello@leanpub.com with your request for your account to be un-suspended.
