Here's how to write a normal numbered list:
1. foo
2. bar
3. baz
You can also write "nested" numbered lists. A "nested" list is a "list in a list".
To nest a numbered list in a numbered list, type three spaces before each item in the nested list, like this:
1. foo
2. bar
1. foo
2. bar
3. baz
3. baz
To nest a bulleted list in a numbered list, type three spaces before each item in the nested list, like this:
1. foo
2. bar
* foo
* bar
* baz
3. baz

To nest a bulleted list in a bulleted list, type three spaces before each item in the nested list, like this:
* foo
* bar

Note that currently, you can't nest a paragraph in a numbered list:
1. foo
2. bar
This is a nested paragraph.
