I'm in the Dropbox writing mode and some images are not appearing in my book. What can I do?

Sometimes authors in our Dropbox writing mode report that images are not appearing in their book, even when those images appeared in the past, and they have not changed anything.

We don't know exactly what causes this to happen, but it does not appear to be an issue with anything Leanpub's book-generation bookbots do.

Typically, for example, if we copy the book's manuscript folder in Dropbox and add it to a new test book in our Dropbox writing mode, all the images appear successfully when we create a preview version, a published version, and a Print-Ready PDF version of the book.

Working with Leanpub authors on this issue, we have found that the best solution is basically a version of "just unplug it and plug it back in".

What you should do first to try and resolve this issue is the following:

1. Create a backup copy of your book's Dropbox folder, just to be extra safe.

2. Copy the resources folder in your book's manuscript folder.

3. Delete the resources folder in your book's manuscript folder.

4. Paste the copied resources folder into your book's manuscript folder.

5. Wait a few minutes for Dropbox to sync the changes.

6. Create a new preview of your book.

Hopefully just doing this will resolve the issue with images not appearing in your book!
