Google Play Books is a great app when it works, but unfortunately it can be unreliable.

Please note that if you want to test your ebook files in Google Play Books, you can do that here:

  • Click on "Upload files" at the top right

  • Upload the file(s)

  • The file will take a few moments to process, and you will see some kind of error if processing fails.

Sometimes EPUB files can work in many apps, but fail processing when you try to upload them to Google Play Books. We will note any clues about the causes of this issue here this article.

- Used dot (β€œ.”) in a listing id that is referred to, i.e. using a dot in a crosslink
