While we think Google Analytics is a great tool for getting a sense of things, we also believe a really good practice is to track sales is through the use of channel-specific coupon codes.

This is really popular in podcast advertising: on a podcast ad, the host will say something like, "To get started go to somewebsite.com/frontmatter", or something like that.

That way, the advertiser knows what channel a sale or signup came from.
