Undoing Recent Changes
If this is the first time you're encountering this error, its cause may be due to a change you have made recently. Undoing your recent changes and then trying again to see if you can narrow down the issue is a good next step.
Downloading Past Manuscript Versions and Comparing Them to the Current Version
You can also download the latest working version of your manuscript by following these instructions and then comparing your current manuscript to your last working manuscript, to look for any differences that may be causing the problem.
Cloning Your Book and Contacting Leanpub Customer Support for Help
Before contacting Leanpub customer support about book generation failure, please take a minute to create a clone of your book:
Once you've created the clone, please contact the team at hello@leanpub.com with the following:
- A link to your book
- A description of the issue (for example, "I'm getting book generation failure on Step 15!")
- Mention that you created a clone of your book
That way, we can try to find the issue in the clone book, while you can keep working on your manuscript in your book, until we let you know what the problem is and find a solution, so you can preview or publish your book successfully.
